Cole Brauer is tougher than you

Cole Brauer, American Badass

She did it.

American skipper Cole Brauer completed what had to have been an absolutely grueling, painful, lonely, thrilling, life-affirming, inspirational and rewarding journey around the globe. The Long Island sailor spent 130 days at sea, by herself, as part of the Global Solo Challenge. In doing so, she made history, becoming the first American woman to sail solo nonstop around the world.

Appropriately, Cole piloted her 40-foot racing yacht "First Light" just after 8 AM local time Thursday in Spanish port city of A'Coruna, completing a round-trip voyage of 30,000 miles.

Brauer, 29, was the youngest racer in a field of 16 boats. Several of the other vessels were unable to complete the journey.

Along the way Brauer amassed better than 450,000 followers on her Instagram account.

Speaking as a fan of the 5-foo-2, 100-pound giant of a human being, it was an absolute thrill to follow her journey via Instagram. For those aren't followers or were unaware of Cole's journey, I highly recommend finding her account to scroll through her journey. Thanks to her own charming personality and the help of a fantastic media team, the content up and down here account is completely captivating.

I dare anyone reading this post to sail through her Insta account and not come away thoroughly inspired by the energetic young adventurer, who seems to exude a terrific mix of positivity and grittiness.
Much will rightfully be made of Brauer's accomplishment as a female, but truly, she's a total badass, regardless of gender ... or anything else for that matter.
